Strategic Facilities Plan

Solucio was engaged to provide a clear understanding of the current and future requirements for bowls facilities in Victoria.

The objective of this project was to develop an evidence-based roadmap for the future, outlining the optimal mix of facilities for bowls in Victoria, while clarifying the current and future facility requirements (type and geographical distribution) based on current and future participation and market/demographic forecasts.

The methodology for this project involved:

• A complete audit of bowls facilities across Victoria.
• Development of a state facilities hierarchy and facilities investment matrix to provide an objective approach to assessing facility and infrastructure requirements.
• Extensive stakeholder consultation process, including 20 in-depth interviews, six focus groups with Regional Bowls Managers, and online survey with 793 responses.

The final outcome was a State Facilities Strategy which provides Bowls Victoria with a clear guidance in understanding and prioritising facility requirements and initiatives over the next 10 years and beyond.
