Aquatics and Indoor Sport Strategy

Solucio was engaged by CCC to develop an Aquatic and Indoor Sports Strategy (AISS) to provide a clear understanding of the current and future requirements for facilities and assist Council in establishing future priorities.

This required a comprehensive demand and needs assessment for aquatic, indoor sports and recreation facilities projected into the future.

The methodology for this project involved:

• Mapping of existing facilities to calculate facility catchments using isochrone analysis.
• Consultation with the local community and key stakeholders including 410 survey responses and 15 depth interviews with key stakeholders.
• Benchmarking of facility management models.
• Financial and operational analysis of recommendations around optimal management models that ensure sustainable facilities.

The final outcome was an AISS which provides the platform to transform CCC’s facilities into a sustainable, adaptable and accessible network that enhances active participation and the health and wellbeing of the community.
