Turf Wicket Management Models

Solucio was engaged to conduct a review of best-practice models for the maintenance and management of turf cricket wickets to inform future operational decisions within the City of Paramatta.

The objective was to develop strategic recommendations to guide Council’s decisions regarding the operating model for Belmore Park/Ritchie Benaud Oval, as well as any future turf wicket facilities.

The methodology for this project involved:

• Detailed review of relevant reports and site-specific assessments, available user agreements for other LGAs, and key industry trends relevant to the management of turf wicket facilities.
• Stakeholder interviews to understand best-practice with regards to the management and operational standards of turf wicket facilities.
• Collaborative workshop/debrief with City of Paramatta staff and management to facilitate discussions and the presentation of research findings and implications.

The final report provided evidence-based recommendations with guidance on the implementation of management and maintenance models for turf wicket facilities.
