Aquatic Facilities Review

Solucio and The OCD were engaged to strategically assess the condition of two aquatic facilities in Wodonga. Based on these findings, Solucio investigated the feasibility for renewal, expansion and improvement of the current facilities.

The project identified current and emerging trends in aquatics, stadium and fitness facility usage, needs of the community and potential for commercial use and options for medical and therapy demands.

The methodology for this project involved:

• A feasibility study (including a needs assessment) identifying the direction of future planning for both facilities and services to address community need.
• A facility audit assessing the current condition of facilities. This included pool plants, mechanical services and equipment at both facilities.
• Concept plans, cost estimates, funding strategy and a staged implementation plan for the recommended future elements within each facility.

The final output of the Facilities Review was a clear future direction for both facilities. The project supported Council’s vision in planning for sustainable, accessible and manageable aquatic facilities for the Wodonga community.
