Golf Australia & PGA Australia

National Golf Inclusion Research

We were engaged to undertake a National Inclusion Research Project for Golf.

The objective of this project was to understand the current participation and engagement in golf in each of the following communities – disability, multi-cultural and Indigenous, and determine the total potential size of each of the markets – disability, multi-cultural and Indigenous.

The methodology for this project involved:

  • Online survey of 225 golf clubs from across Australia.
  • In-depth interviews with key stakeholders, including Disability Service Providers, members of the Indigenous community and Migrant and Refugee Support Service Providers.
  • Collected, analysed and mapped ABS population data for each market segment and overlaid golf facility data.

The final outcome was uncovering key insights to assist golf organisations, at all levels, become more inclusive and reflective of the diverse Australian Community.

In addition, a club Inclusion Toolkit with practical advice on making clubs more welcoming and inclusive environments was developed.
