Matt Drysdale
Urban Design
Matt Drysdale is a project partner from TheOCD, and a long-time collaborator whose creative influence runs deep across the team’s work. With more than two decades of experience in architecture, urban design, and master planning, Matt brings a rare combination of design experience, strategic thinking, and commercial acumen to our planning and design projects.
Matt has led design and planning on major developments across Australia and Southeast Asia. His portfolio includes roles as Design Leader at Woods Bagot, Design Associate at Jackson Architecture, and key projects design leadership at JAI-Group Thailand. He also currently sits on the Urban Design Advisory Panel at Hobart City Council and design leader at TheOCD.
Among his most significant projects are the Carlton Housing Redevelopment, Victoria University Tower, Melbourne Olympic Park Redevelopment Stage 1 and Eastern Plaza. Each project is a testament to his ability to deliver innovative solutions on complex sites.
Matt’s core expertise spans urban design, architecture, feasibility and concept design, public art, development strategy, and commercial advisory. He thrives on solving challenging design problems and uncovering creative outcomes that meet the needs of both clients and communities. His input is grounded in deep experience and a genuine passion for improving the built environment.
He’s a natural mentor and enjoys sharing knowledge across disciplines to help shape stronger ideas and better outcomes. Matts broad experience has given him a grounded, real-world perspective that continues to inform his creative process, problem-solving approach, and ability to connect with clients and communities alike.
Outside of work, you can find Matt chasing waves on his surfboard, whether in the ocean or at URBNSURF.
