Men’s and Boys’ & Women’s and Girls’ Competition Review

Solucio was engaged to conduct a review of football in Victoria and determine the optimal structure for participation and elite talent development (Men’s and Boys’, and Women’s and Girls’).

The methodology for these projects involved:

• A review of approximately 50 documents including existing feedback, reports, interstate NPL reviews and international examples.
• Rigorous data analysis to understand retention, attrition, industry benchmarks and global best practice standards.
• Extensive consultation process, including an online survey with over 5,000 responses, 50 in-depth interviews completed with FV staff, club administrators, players, parents, coaches and referees, and a series of regional forums across Victoria.

The final outcome was a collective understanding of the current priorities and longer-term considerations to ensure an optimal football pathway and experience in Victoria.

The organisation has acknowledged these reviews were ‘the single largest pieces of research the organisation had ever embarked upon’.
