Talent Player Pathway Review

SANFL engaged Solucio to undertake a review of its talented player pathways as part of a continuous improvement initiative. The objective of the project was to ensure South Australian Boys (15-18- years old) receive industry-leading programs/pathway/education (both on and off the field).

We undertook an in-depth consultation process involving current players, coaches, officials and administrators. This included:

• 41-depth interviews with key stakeholders including all SANFL clubs and SA AFL clubs.
• Online strategic survey sent to the Head of Recruiting and List Managers of all 18 AFL Clubs.

Solucio also conducted a detailed analysis of key datasets and benchmarking of the talent player pathway in WA and Victoria, as well as of other major sporting codes in South Australia to understand how the the SANFL’s historic performance compared with other states and sports

The review produced a comprehensive report that outlines a series of recommendations that will position South Australia to elevate the identification and development of talented players into the future.
