Community Engagement for the Brierly Sports and Community Hub

Solucio was engaged to facilitate community consultation and engagement activities for the potential new sports and community hub at Brierly Recreation Reserve.

The focus of the project was to consult the North Warrnambool community to understand the current needs and potential opportunities, specifically in relation to the function of a new community hub and how it could be utilised.

The methodology for this project involved:

• Detailed analysis of population and demographic data to understand the current and future recreation and open space needs of the community.
• A stakeholder engagement process, including 120 survey responses, and 10 consultations with Council staff and selected community organisations.
• Consolidation of all engagement activities that informed the development of a vision for the sports and community hub.

The final outcome of the project was a vision for the new Sports and Community Hub to be located at the Brierly Recreation Reserve that captures the aspirations and practical priorities of local residents and other stakeholders.
