Showground Sport and Recreation Precinct Master Plan

Solucio is currently engaged by Swan Hill Rural City Council to develop a Masterplan for the Swan Hill Showgrounds Sport and Recreation Precinct.

The aim of this project is to guide the regeneration and development of the Precinct until 2050 and consider both current and potential future user groups. The Precinct is Council’s premier sport facility and is located near the Central Business District and the Swan Hill Secondary College. It incorporates two grass ovals, eight netball hardcourts, cricket wickets and nets, the Swan Hill Leisure Centre, a boxing gym, and is home to the Swan Hill Agricultural Pastoral Society.

The methodology for this project has involved:

• 11 x in-depth interviews with relevant stakeholders
• An online community survey
• Regular liaison with the Advisory Committee
• Site usage analysis and forecasting
• Concept design and planning

The final outcome will be a Masterplan with tailored recommendations and priorities to efficiently guide the Precinct towards 2050 – making evidence-based recommendations as to the viability of current and potential user groups.
